India is advancing rapidly in emerging technologies such as artificial intelligence (AI), quantum computing, semiconductors and deep-tech, Union Minister Jitendra Singh said on Friday, stressing that the country’s youth will play a defining role in building a “Viksit Bharat” by 2047.
The minister was speaking after inaugurating the Lakshya 2047 Centre for Future Skills, along with Cadaveric Centre and Advanced Medical Simulation facilities at Parul University.
Highlighting India’s growing focus on innovation and research, Jitendra Singh said the government led by Prime Minister Narendra Modi has adopted an integrated and collaborative approach to technological development and skill-building.
According to him, the country is no longer working within traditional institutional silos. Instead, the government is encouraging stronger collaboration among academic institutions, startups, researchers and the private sector to accelerate innovation and create future-ready talent.
Jitendra Singh said sectors such as AI, quantum technology and semiconductor manufacturing are expected to shape the next phase of global development, and India is positioning itself to become a major player in these fields.
He also noted that initiatives focused on future skills and advanced training infrastructure would help prepare young Indians for emerging opportunities in science, technology and healthcare.
The minister said India’s demographic strength, combined with investments in innovation and education, would be crucial in achieving the goal of becoming a developed nation by 2047.
