Raging Wildfires Devastate Los Angeles: 10 Dead, Thousands Evacuated as Blazes Spread

Los Angeles is grappling with catastrophic wildfires that have claimed at least 10 lives and destroyed thousands of structures. The Palisades Fire and the Eaton Fire, the most severe blazes, have scorched over 30,000 acres, leaving a trail of destruction.

Los Angeles Fire Chief Kristin Crowley warned that powerful winds could worsen the situation, accelerating the spread of the fires and increasing the risk of further devastation.

The crisis has forced the evacuation of nearly 180,000 residents. In response, Governor Gavin Newsom declared a state of emergency and deployed 900 additional firefighters to combat the growing infernos.

Federal support is on the way, with President Biden authorizing emergency resources to bolster firefighting efforts. International aid, including assistance from Canada, is also being mobilized.

Officials caution that the death toll could rise as search and rescue missions continue. Authorities urge residents to follow evacuation orders and stay updated through official channels.
