New Delhi: A Class 12 student has been detained for allegedly sending a series of bomb threat emails to various schools across Delhi. According to police reports, the student sent at least six bomb threats, each time targeting different schools while deliberately excluding his own institution.
The investigation began after several schools in the capital received alarming emails warning of planted explosives, causing widespread panic among students, parents, and school authorities. Swift action by security agencies led to immediate evacuations and thorough searches of the school premises, but no explosives were found.
Delhi Police traced the origin of the emails to the student, leading to his detention. Preliminary investigations suggest that the boy acted alone, though authorities are probing his motives and any possible influences.
Police are currently questioning the student to understand whether the threats were a prank or if there was a deeper intent behind the actions. Cybercrime experts are also involved in the case to examine the methods used to send the threatening emails.
This incident has raised serious concerns about cybersecurity in educational institutions and the psychological well-being of students. Authorities are urging parents and schools to remain vigilant and to educate children about the consequences of such actions.
