Thiruvananthapuram: Kerala opposition leader Pinarayi Vijayan on Tuesday paid heartfelt tributes to veteran Communist leader and former Chief Minister V.S. Achuthanandan on his first death anniversary, describing him as one of the most influential figures in Kerala’s political history.
In a Facebook post, Pinarayi Vijayan said Achuthanandan was not just a political leader but the embodiment of an era that shaped Kerala’s socio-political landscape. He added that Achuthanandan’s legacy continues to inspire generations and remains “an enduring force that keeps Kerala’s social conscience alive.”
Remembering his long political journey, Vijayan said Achuthanandan rose from being a young activist fighting for the rights of the oppressed to becoming the Chief Minister of Kerala. He noted that Achuthanandan’s life reflected the struggles, determination, and resilience of the state’s working class, leaving behind a lasting legacy in Kerala’s public life.
