New Delhi: Activist Sonam Wangchuk on Sunday described the proposed Parliament march on July 20 as India’s “second freedom movement”, urging people across the country to join the protest and make it a “big success.”
In a handwritten message shared from Safdarjung Hospital through his wife, Gitanjali J. Angmo, Wangchuk called for “freedom from injustice” and “freedom from fear.”
He linked “freedom from injustice” to alleged examination paper leaks and “freedom from fear” to what he described as his “illegal detention.”
The message, later shared on Wangchuk’s official X account, read: “20th July. India’s second freedom movement. Freedom from injustice (like paper leaks). Freedom from fear (my illegal detention).”
The Parliament march is expected to draw supporters from across the country, with Wangchuk appealing for widespread public participation.
