Kolkata: Union Home Minister Amit Shah on Sunday praised what he described as West Bengal’s unprecedented political transformation while virtually laying the foundation stone for the world’s largest curd production plant under the Amul Bengal Dairy Project.
The foundation stone ceremony was held from the Biswa Bangla Convention Centre in New Town, Kolkata, for the upcoming dairy facility in Howrah. Chief Minister Suvendu Adhikari, senior ministers and government officials attended the event.
Addressing the gathering, Shah said the political change witnessed in West Bengal was unlike any transformation seen in any Indian state since Independence in 1947.
The new Amul dairy project is expected to significantly boost milk processing and dairy production in the state, strengthening the cooperative sector and creating employment opportunities.
