New Delhi: Congress leader Rahul Gandhi on Saturday appealed to people visiting the national capital for the INDIA bloc’s march and rally to support local traders by shopping ahead of Diwali. He dismissed claims that the opposition programme would disrupt business activities and accused the BJP of spreading rumours.
In a video message posted on X, Gandhi said that lakhs of people from different parts of the country were expected to reach Delhi on Sunday to participate in the march to Ramlila Maidan, where the INDIA bloc is scheduled to hold a rally against alleged electoral irregularities.
Highlighting the festive season, which includes Diwali, Chhath and Bhai Dooj, Gandhi urged visitors to purchase goods from local shops and extend their support to traders in the capital.
He reiterated that the opposition’s programme would not cause any harm to businesses.
