Indian Ships Cross Strait of Hormuz Amid Ongoing Tensions

New Delhi: Amid continuing tensions in the region, Indian vessels have begun crossing the Strait of Hormuz, according to reports, a day after Iranian forces allegedly opened fire near ships anchored off the Oman coast.

Sources said an Indian-flagged vessel became the tenth ship to successfully pass through the strategic waterway. However, two Indian tankers reportedly turned back during the firing incident.

One vessel, Jag Arnav, carrying crude oil, is currently en route to the Indian coast, officials indicated.

Maritime traffic data shows that several Indian-flagged ships are still waiting to cross the strait. Around 13 vessels are positioned west of Hormuz, six are anchored in the Gulf of Oman, one near the Gulf of Aden, and three in the Red Sea.

The situation continues to be closely monitored as concerns over maritime safety and energy supply disruptions remain high.
