New Delhi: The national capital recorded a minimum temperature of 19.5 degrees Celsius on Saturday, April 5, 2025 — slightly above the seasonal average by 0.7 degrees. According to the India Meteorological Department (IMD), strong surface winds are expected during the day, with the maximum temperature likely to soar to 39°C.
The IMD has also issued a heatwave alert for the next six days, predicting temperatures could climb as high as 42 degrees Celsius, urging residents to prepare for sweltering conditions.
At 8:30 am, the relative humidity was recorded at 47%, contributing to the discomfort. Meanwhile, Delhi’s Air Quality Index (AQI) stood at 164, placing it in the ‘moderate’ category, as per data from the Central Pollution Control Board (CPCB).
Authorities have advised citizens to stay hydrated, avoid stepping out during peak afternoon hours, and take necessary precautions to stay safe amid rising heat levels.
