The price of commercial LPG cylinders has been sharply increased by ₹993 per 19-kg cylinder, marking the steepest hike on record, officials said on Friday.
With the latest revision, a 19-kg commercial LPG cylinder now costs ₹3,071.50 in Delhi, up from ₹2,078.50. This is the third consecutive monthly increase, following hikes of ₹195.50 on April 1 and ₹114.50 on March 1.
Commercial LPG is primarily used by hotels, restaurants, and other business establishments. Officials attributed the surge in prices to rising global energy costs linked to ongoing tensions in West Asia.
The repeated hikes are expected to impact the hospitality sector, potentially leading to higher food prices.
