New Delhi: The Centre on Wednesday extended the tenure of N. Kalaiselvi, Director General of the Council of Scientific and Industrial Research (CSIR), until February 2027.
Kalaiselvi, the first woman to head the country’s premier scientific research organisation, was initially appointed as CSIR Director General in August 2022. Her tenure was extended by two years in July 2024, and has now been further extended until February next year.
The extension ensures continuity in the leadership of CSIR, one of India’s largest scientific research and development organisations.
