PM Modi Marks 11 Years of Digital India, Hails Initiative’s Transformative Impact

New Delhi: Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Wednesday marked the 11th anniversary of the Digital India initiative, describing it as a transformative programme that has improved governance, empowered citizens and accelerated the country’s development.

In a message on X, Modi said Digital India has made governance more transparent, efficient and citizen-centric through initiatives such as digital payments, Direct Benefit Transfers (DBT) and Digital Public Infrastructure.

He said the programme has boosted innovation across villages and Tier-2 and Tier-3 cities, enabling startups and entrepreneurs to develop solutions in key sectors including education, healthcare, agriculture, commerce and public services.

Highlighting India’s progress in emerging technologies, the Prime Minister said advances in artificial intelligence (AI), semiconductors and quantum computing will create new opportunities and strengthen the vision of a Viksit Bharat. He reaffirmed the government’s commitment to using technology for inclusive and sustainable development.
