Assam Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma on Thursday chaired a meeting to review and finalise proposed infrastructure projects under the Prime Minister’s Development Initiative for North East Region (PM-DevINE).
The proposed projects cover key sectors, including roads, healthcare, education and government buildings.
According to a post by the Chief Minister’s Office (CMO) on social media, Sarma reviewed presentations submitted by the Public Works Department (PWD) and directed officials to identify and shortlist high-priority infrastructure projects across the state.
He also emphasised the need to ensure balanced geographical coverage while selecting projects so that development benefits reach different parts of Assam.
The PM-DevINE scheme aims to support infrastructure development and address regional development gaps across the northeastern states.
