The Union Public Service Commission (UPSC) on Thursday announced the results of the Civil Services (Main) Examination 2026, clearing successful candidates for the next stage of the selection process, the personality test.
According to an official statement issued by the commission, the main examination was held from August 21 to 30, 2026.
The Civil Services Examination is conducted annually in three stages: Preliminary, Main and Interview. The examination is held to recruit candidates for various prestigious government services, including the Indian Administrative Service (IAS), Indian Foreign Service (IFS) and Indian Police Service (IPS), among others.
Candidates who have qualified in the main examination will now proceed to the interview stage, which assesses their personality, suitability and overall aptitude for a career in public service.
