Jaishankar Meets European Council President, Reviews India-EU Trade and Technology Partnership

Brussels: External Affairs Minister S. Jaishankar met European Council President Antonio Costa in Brussels and reaffirmed India’s commitment to strengthening trade and technology cooperation with the European Union.

Jaishankar, who is on a two-day visit to Belgium from July 14 to 15, is attending the third India-EU Trade and Technology Council (TTC) meeting along with Union Commerce and Industry Minister Piyush Goyal and Minister of State Jitin Prasada.

Following the meeting, Jaishankar said the leaders acknowledged the significant progress made in India-EU relations since the landmark India-EU Summit held earlier this year.

In a post on X, the External Affairs Minister said he appreciated President Costa’s guidance and warm support in advancing cooperation between India and the European Union in the areas of trade and technology.

The visit is aimed at deepening strategic ties and expanding collaboration in key sectors, including trade, innovation and emerging technologies.
