Shigella is a bacterial infection that affects the intestines. Common symptoms include diarrhoea, fever, abdominal pain, fatigue, and blood-stained stools. However, not all infected individuals show symptoms. The signs of the disease usually appear about three days after the bacteria enter the body.

Health authorities have urged the public to maintain proper hygiene and food safety practices to prevent the spread of the infection.
