Jaishankar Raises Indian Mariners’ Deaths with US Secretary Rubio

External Affairs Minister S. Jaishankar on Saturday discussed the deaths of three Indian mariners with US Secretary of State Marco Rubio during a phone conversation and conveyed India’s strong protest over the incident.

Jaishankar, who is currently visiting Europe, said he reiterated India’s concerns regarding the US military strike on a merchant vessel in the Gulf of Oman that resulted in the deaths of the three Indian crew members.

The minister stated that India has strongly objected to the attack and emphasized the need to ensure the safety of civilian shipping and seafarers operating in the region. The issue has sparked diplomatic concern, with India seeking clarity and accountability over the incident.
