BJP Protests Demanding Free Bus Travel for Women in All KSRTC Services

Thrissur: The BJP Thrissur City District Committee organized a protest march to the KSRTC bus stand in Thrissur, demanding the implementation of free travel for women across all KSRTC buses in Kerala.

The march was inaugurated by BJP State Vice President K.K. Anil Kumar, who accused the UDF government of failing to fulfill its election promises. He alleged that the shortcomings of the free travel scheme became evident on its very first day of implementation.

Anil Kumar claimed that several ordinary buses operating in Thiruvananthapuram had been converted into City Fast services, thereby denying women the benefit of free travel. He also pointed out that passengers in various parts of the state were forced to wait for hours and stage protests due to the unavailability of buses eligible under the scheme.

The protest meeting was presided over by District President Justin Jacob. Several BJP and Mahila Morcha leaders addressed the gathering, including Sheetal Raj, K.R. Hari, Sujay Senan, Sudheesh Menothuparambil, Poornima Suresh, Soumya Salesh, Mini Anil Kumar, Bijoy Thomas, Jancy, Niji K.G., and Sabish Marathayur.

Councillors Raghunath C. Menon, Vinshi Arun, and Padmini Shaji, along with Mandalam President Vibin Ainikkunnath, Mahila Morcha State Secretary Seena Sasi, Udaya Venugopal, and Jyothi Lakshmi, led the march.
