Hotel Food Prices Rise Following Increase in Commercial LPG Rates

Hotel food prices have increased across Kerala following the recent hike in commercial LPG cylinder prices.

Tea prices have gone up by around Rs 4, taking the cost of a cup to Rs 16 in many hotels and restaurants. The price of meals has also increased by nearly Rs 30, with a standard meal now costing around Rs 120.

Prices of non-vegetarian dishes have also been revised upward, adding to the financial burden on consumers.

The catering and hostel sectors are reportedly facing severe pressure due to rising operational costs, with industry representatives warning that the situation is beginning to affect the daily lives of ordinary people.

Meanwhile, public sector oil companies are reportedly preparing to raise petrol and diesel prices. Reports suggest that the companies have received approval from the Centre for a possible fuel price revision.

Petrol and diesel prices may increase by up to Rs 5 per litre within the next two days, while domestic LPG cylinder prices could reportedly go up by around Rs 50.
