Gold prices in Kerala have soared to an all-time high once again, breaking the previous record of ₹1,05,600 set earlier this month. In a sharp single-day jump of ₹1,400, the price of gold has climbed to a new peak of ₹1,06,840 per sovereign.
The per-gram price also witnessed a significant rise of ₹175, taking the rate to ₹13,355. This marks a continued upward trend after gold first crossed the ₹1 lakh milestone on December 23.
Market experts point to fluctuations in the international market as the key driver behind the surge in local prices. Growing demand for gold as a safe-haven investment amid global uncertainties has further fueled the rally, keeping prices at elevated levels in the state.
