CM Satheesan defends appointments of Muneer, Devarajan to key posts

Thiruvananthapuram: Chief Minister V D Satheesan on Friday defended the appointment of IUML leader M K Muneer as chairman of the State Administrative Reforms Commission and Forward Bloc national general secretary G Devarajan as Kerala’s special representative in New Delhi.

Speaking to reporters at a press conference, Satheesan said the appointments, which carry Cabinet rank, were part of the UDF government’s efforts to reform administration and improve the state’s ability to secure funds for centrally sponsored projects.

He said administrative reforms had been announced by the UDF during the Assembly election campaign and the Nava Kerala Yatra. The proposed changes aim to improve governance and simplify procedures for clearing official files, he added.
