YouTuber Ranveer Allahbadia Moves Supreme Court Over Multiple FIRs Amid Controversy

Popular YouTuber and podcaster Ranveer Allahbadia, widely known as “BeerBiceps,” has approached the Supreme Court of India, seeking relief from multiple FIRs lodged against him across various states. The legal trouble stems from controversial remarks made during an episode of the YouTube reality show India’s Got Latent, hosted by comedian Samay Raina. The episode, which was later deleted, featured discussions that many deemed offensive and inappropriate.

In his plea, Allahbadia has requested the Supreme Court to consolidate all FIRs into a single case to simplify legal proceedings. However, despite his appeal for an urgent hearing, the Supreme Court has scheduled the matter for a later date.

The controversy has sparked legal action in cities like Mumbai and Delhi, where complaints accuse the show of promoting vulgarity and obscenity. A Supreme Court lawyer has also filed a complaint with Delhi’s Cyber Police, urging a ban on the show for its explicit content.

Amid the growing backlash, the National Human Rights Commission (NHRC) has stepped in, directing YouTube to remove the controversial episode. The NHRC has stated that the content may have violated multiple legal provisions, including the Bhartiya Nyay Sanhita (BNS) and the Protection of Children from Sexual Offences (POCSO) Act.

As the legal battle unfolds, Allahbadia and his associates find themselves at the center of intense scrutiny, underscoring the delicate balance between creative expression and legal boundaries in India’s evolving digital landscape.
