The Union Ministry of Labour and Employment has urged the Karnataka government to take action regarding complaints over Infosys delaying the onboarding of more than 2,000 freshers. These candidates, selected for System Engineer (SE) and Digital Specialist Engineer (DSE) roles during the 2022-23 recruitment drive, are still awaiting their joining dates.
The move comes after a formal complaint from the Nascent Information Technology Employees Senate (NITES), which accused Infosys of “ongoing exploitation and unprofessional treatment” of the affected graduates.
In response, Infosys has reportedly started issuing joining dates, aiming to complete the onboarding process by December. The company has also revised its annual revenue forecast to 3-4%, suggesting an increased demand for manpower.
However, NITES President Harpreet Singh Saluja pointed out that while many freshers have received joining dates, around 500 DSE candidates are still in limbo. He assured that the union will continue to closely monitor developments to ensure fair treatment of all affected candidates.
