Yash’s Film Toxic Faces Legal Setback Over Alleged Deforestation for Film Set

The highly anticipated film Toxic, starring Yash and directed by Geetu Mohandas, has run into legal trouble with the Karnataka Forest Department filing a case against the film’s producers. The controversy began when it was discovered that around 100 trees were allegedly cleared in a forest area near Bengaluru to construct a set for the film. Satellite imagery confirmed the deforestation, which prompted Karnataka’s Environment Minister, Eshwar Khandre, to raise concerns and urge officials to take action.

The production team reportedly lacked the required permits for the deforestation, leading to accusations of unauthorized environmental damage. The case has brought increased scrutiny on entities involved, including some management figures linked to the project.

Despite this hurdle, Toxic a high-budget action thriller that pairs Yash with Kiara Advani is still on track for an April 2025 release. The film has generated significant anticipation, especially as it marks Yash’s return to the big screen post-KGF. However, the incident has highlighted the importance of ecological regulations and responsible practices within the film industry.
