PM Modi Celebrates Christmas with Christian Community at Union Minister George Kurian’s Residence

Prime Minister Narendra Modi attended festive Christmas celebrations at the New Delhi residence of Union Minister George Kurian. The event, marked by warmth and inclusivity, brought together prominent members of the Christian community.

During the celebration, PM Modi lit candles, participated in various programs, and highlighted the spirit of Christmas. His presence underscored the government’s commitment to strengthening ties with all religious groups.

In a post on X (formerly Twitter), the Prime Minister expressed his joy, stating, “Attended the Christmas celebrations at the residence of Union Minister Shri George Kurian Ji. Also interacted with eminent members of the Christian community.”

George Kurian, who hails from Kottayam, Kerala, took office as a Union Minister in June 2024. His appointment is seen as a significant gesture towards enhancing relations with the Christian community, reflecting the government’s inclusive approach.

Christmas, celebrated worldwide on December 25, commemorates the birth of Jesus Christ. In India, it is a vibrant festival marked by midnight masses, beautifully decorated churches, and traditions that spread joy and unity across communities.
