Over 5 Lakh Elderly Benefit from Ayushman Vaya Vandana Card; Madhya Pradesh Leads in Enrollment

In just two weeks since its launch by Prime Minister Narendra Modi, over 5 lakh elderly citizens have enrolled for the Ayushman Vaya Vandana Card, a health coverage scheme aimed at those aged 70 and above. This initiative has gained significant traction in Madhya Pradesh, which currently leads in enrollment figures.

The card provides free healthcare coverage at government hospitals and subsidized rates at selected private facilities, ensuring that seniors have access to essential medical services without income-based restrictions. Designed to relieve financial pressures on senior citizens, the scheme offers coverage for age-related health concerns and aims to enhance healthcare accessibility for this vulnerable population.

The strong response, particularly in Madhya Pradesh, highlights the state’s active involvement in promoting the program, with local government initiatives helping boost awareness among the elderly. This rollout represents a major step forward in addressing healthcare needs among India’s aging population.
