Leh: Vice-President of India C. P. Radhakrishnan has begun his first official visit to the Union Territory of Ladakh, a three-day tour that will focus on border-area development and the promotion of wellness through yoga.
During the visit, the Vice-President is scheduled to travel to the Vibrant Village of Lukung on June 20, where he will interact with local Self-Help Groups and review developmental initiatives being implemented under the Centre’s Vibrant Villages Programme in the border region.
He will also pay homage at the War Memorial, recognising the sacrifices of the armed forces personnel who have served the nation in the strategically significant region.
On June 21, C. P. Radhakrishnan will participate in the celebrations marking the International Day of Yoga in Leh. The event is expected to bring together youth, armed forces personnel and members of various organisations to promote the message of holistic health, fitness and well-being through yoga.
The visit underscores the Centre’s focus on border area development, community engagement and the growing significance of yoga as a global movement for physical and mental wellness.
