Uttarakhand CM Reviews Char Dham Yatra Preparations; Centre Assesses Safety Measures

Dehradun: Uttarakhand Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami on Thursday reviewed preparations for the upcoming Char Dham Yatra, scheduled to begin on April 19, while the Union Home Ministry also assessed safety and readiness measures.

The annual pilgrimage will commence on the occasion of Akshay Tritiya with the opening of the Gangotri and Yamunotri temples in Uttarkashi district. The portals of Kedarnath in Rudraprayag will open on April 22, followed by Badrinath in Chamoli on April 23.

As part of the review, the Chief Minister travelled by road from Rudraprayag to Guptkashi via National Highway-107 to evaluate arrangements for smooth movement of pilgrims.

Officials said both the state government and the Centre are focusing on ensuring safety, infrastructure readiness and effective crowd management ahead of the yatra.
