12 Indians Among 13 Killed in Factory Explosion in Qatar

Doha: Twelve Indian nationals were among the 13 people killed in a massive explosion at a factory in Qatar’s Ras Laffan Industrial City, officials confirmed on Monday.

According to the Indian Embassy in Doha, Qatari authorities have verified that 12 Indian citizens lost their lives in the incident, which occurred on Sunday night. The embassy expressed condolences to the families of the victims and said it is coordinating with local authorities to provide assistance.

The explosion took place at the Barzan local gas supply facility in Ras Laffan Industrial City, operated by QatarEnergy LNG. The blast also left 66 people injured, including several Indian nationals.

Emergency response teams rushed to the site and the injured were shifted to nearby hospitals for treatment. Authorities have launched an investigation to determine the cause of the explosion.

The Indian Embassy said it remains in close contact with Qatari officials and is extending all necessary support to the affected families.
