Shivakumar Seeks Stronger India-US Partnership in Technology and Innovation

Bengaluru: Karnataka Chief Minister D K Shivakumar on Sunday called for closer India-US cooperation across technology, education, research, innovation, investment and culture, highlighting Bengaluru’s role as a major global technology hub.

Speaking at an event commemorating the 250th anniversary of American independence, attended by US Ambassador to India Sergio Gor, Shivakumar said the relationship between the two countries was expanding beyond traditional government-to-government ties.

He noted that universities, researchers, entrepreneurs, startups and businesses were increasingly becoming key drivers of the India-US partnership.

“Washington and New Delhi may guide the strategic partnership between our countries. But Bengaluru and Silicon Valley give it a powerful technological dimension,” Shivakumar said.

The Chief Minister positioned Bengaluru as an important link between India and the US in emerging technologies, innovation and entrepreneurship.
