NGT seeks Uttarakhand government’s reply over alleged environmental violations on Kedarnath route

Dehradun: The principal bench of the National Green Tribunal (NGT) has sought a response from the Uttarakhand government over alleged environmental violations along the Sonprayag-Gaurikund-Kedarnath pilgrimage corridor.

The bench, comprising NGT chairperson Justice Prakash Shrivastava and expert member Afroz Ahmad, issued a notice to the respondent in connection with the allegations.

The tribunal was hearing an application filed by Amit Gupta, a Noida-based environmentalist and Right to Information (RTI) activist.
