Thiruvananthapuram: Oscar-winning sound designer and filmmaker Resul Pookutty has been appointed as the Chairperson of the Kerala State Chalachitra Academy. Actress Cuckoo Parameswaran will serve as the Vice Chairperson, while C. Ajay will continue as the Secretary.
After director Ranjith stepped down as Chairperson, Premkumar, who was serving as the Vice Chairperson, had been acting as the interim head of the Academy.
Resul Pookutty will officially assume charge before the announcement of the Kerala State Film Awards. There had already been indications earlier that he would be chosen for the post.
