Thiruvananthapuram: Gold prices in Kerala have recorded a significant increase once again. The price of 22-carat gold has risen by ₹130 per gram to ₹14,240, while the price of one sovereign has gone up by ₹1,040 to ₹1,13,920, according to the Kerala Gold and Silver Merchants Association.
On the previous day, the price of a sovereign stood at ₹1,12,880, marking a sharp increase of ₹1,040 today. Gold prices have been witnessing a steady upward trend in recent days, creating concern among consumers and fluctuations in the market.
Meanwhile, silver prices have also increased in the state. The price of silver stands at ₹270 per gram and ₹2,700 for 10 grams.
Traders attribute the rise in prices to changes in the global market and fluctuations in the dollar rate.
