Reports circulating on social media and some media platforms claiming that Tamil Nadu Chief Minister C. Joseph Vijay’s wife, Sangeetha Sornalingam, has joined the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) have been found to be false.
The rumour reportedly originated from Andhra Pradesh and was later picked up by several media outlets. However, neither sources close to Sangeetha nor BJP leaders have provided any evidence to support the claim that she has joined the party.
Sangeetha had earlier filed a divorce petition in a family court ahead of the Tamil Nadu Assembly elections. Despite TVK’s electoral victory and Vijay assuming office as Chief Minister, Sangeetha was not seen alongside him during the swearing-in ceremony or at any related public events. Their children also did not attend the ceremony, sparking widespread discussion among both cinema fans and political observers.
