New Delhi: Congress leader Rahul Gandhi on Wednesday alleged that the BJP and RSS hold an “anti-Adivasi mindset” and are attempting to deprive tribal communities of their rights over “jal, jangal aur zameen” — water, forests, and land.
Rahul Gandhi made the remarks through a social media post after attending an event organised by the Adivasi Congress at Indira Bhawan in the national capital.
The Leader of Opposition in the Lok Sabha addressed participants at the Adivasi Professionals Conclave 2026, where he paid tribute to tribal icon Birsa Munda and spoke on issues affecting Adivasi communities.
During his address, Gandhi stressed the importance of safeguarding tribal rights and raised concerns over policies and actions he claimed threaten the traditional ownership and livelihood of tribal populations.
The Congress leader reiterated his party’s commitment to protecting the interests of Adivasi communities and ensuring their rights over natural resources are preserved.
