Jammu: Samba Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP) Anuj Kumar on Wednesday reviewed security arrangements at key locations across the district as part of preparations for the upcoming annual Amarnath Yatra, officials said.
The review was conducted to assess and strengthen security measures to ensure the smooth and safe conduct of the pilgrimage.
During the inspection, SSP Anuj Kumar was accompanied by senior district officials who evaluated preparedness at important points and discussed coordination among various security and administrative agencies.
The 57-day Amarnath Yatra is scheduled to begin on July 3 and conclude on August 28, coinciding with the festival of Raksha Bandhan.
Pilgrims will travel through two designated routes — the traditional 48-km Nunwan-Pahalgam route in Anantnag district and the shorter but steeper 14-km Baltal route in Ganderbal district.
Authorities said extensive security and logistical arrangements are being put in place ahead of the annual pilgrimage.
