PV Sindhu Says Japan Open Triumph During Rath Yatra Feels ‘Truly Poetic’

Bhubaneswar: Indian badminton star PV Sindhu on Sunday described her historic Japan Open women’s singles title victory as “truly poetic” as it coincided with Lord Jagannath’s Rath Yatra in Puri.

Sindhu made the remark in a post on social media while responding to Biju Janata Dal (BJD) president Naveen Patnaik, who had congratulated her on defeating Japan’s Akane Yamaguchi to win the prestigious title.

Thanking Patnaik for his wishes, Sindhu said the timing of her victory during the sacred Rath Yatra made the achievement even more special.

She also expressed her desire to visit Puri soon to witness the annual Rath Yatra and seek the blessings of Lord Jagannath.
