The South India Triennial Conference of the Church History Assn. of India (Estd. 1935) held at Vijayawada from 17th to 19th of Jan. 2024 elected Chev. Prof. (Dr.) George Menachery as President for the next three years. The conference was inaugurated by the chancellor of the Sam Higginbottom University of Allahabad (Prayagraj) Dr. Oliver Jetti and presided over by retiring President Bishop Sunil Bhanu.
Dr. Charles Dias, ex.-MP, was elected vice-president. Rev. Anil Kumar Jeldi (Secretary), Rosalyn Dinakaran, Chennai Jt. Secretary), Dr. Joby Kochumuttom, CMI, Bangalore (Treasurer), Fr. Mulava Prasad & Fr. Job Sam (Ktm)as Exec. Committee members were also elected. The Conference resolved to hold regional conferences at Hyderabad, Chennai, Bangalore, Pondicherry, and Kochi to highlight the contributions made by missionaries in the social, cultural, and industrial fields of the States launching widespread renaissance. Committees were formed to study the oral Church history present in Telugu, Kannada, Tamil &Malayalam.
