NEW DELHI: Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Friday paid tribute to Hazrat Imam Hussain on the occasion of Muharram, saying his sacrifice continues to inspire people to uphold truth and justice.
In a message posted on X, the Prime Minister said Hazrat Imam Hussain’s unwavering commitment to truth, justice, and righteousness remains a source of inspiration for millions around the world.
“The sacrifice of Hazrat Imam Hussain (AS) continues to inspire many people to remain steadfast in the pursuit of truth and justice. It is also a reminder of the enduring power of courage and conviction,” PM Modi wrote.
Muharram, the first month of the Islamic calendar, commemorates the martyrdom of Hazrat Imam Hussain, the grandson of Prophet Muhammad, at the Battle of Karbala. The day is observed by Muslims across the world as a symbol of sacrifice, courage, and the fight against injustice.
