New Delhi: Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Friday met Iranian President Masoud Pezeshkian on the sidelines of the BRICS Summit in New Delhi, their second meeting in less than two weeks.
The leaders discussed bilateral ties and cooperation in multilateral forums, including BRICS. Modi thanked Iran for its continued high-level participation in BRICS meetings and Pezeshkian for attending the BRICS Business Forum’s Leaders’ Session.
They also exchanged views on the latest developments in West Asia. Modi reiterated India’s position that disputes should be resolved through dialogue and diplomacy and stressed the need to ensure regional peace, freedom of navigation and the safety of seafarers.
