Jamnagar, Gujarat: Prime Minister Narendra Modi inaugurated ‘Vantara’, a groundbreaking wildlife conservation, rescue, and rehabilitation initiative by Reliance Industries and Reliance Foundation. Spread across 3,000 acres within the Jamnagar Refinery Complex, the center is dedicated to providing a safe haven for injured, abused, and endangered animals.
During the inauguration, PM Modi interacted with Asiatic lion cubs, a rare clouded leopard cub, and a rescued white lion cub. He also observed the Caracal breeding program, a vital effort to preserve this elusive species.
Leading the initiative, Anant Ambani emphasized Reliance’s deep commitment to animal welfare, stating that the project aligns with the belief that animals are sacred and must be protected.
Vantara boasts state-of-the-art healthcare and research facilities and collaborates with global organizations like the International Union for Conservation of Nature (IUCN) and World Wildlife Fund (WWF) to enhance conservation efforts across India’s zoos.
The facility is set to open to the public soon, offering visitors a unique glimpse into world-class wildlife rehabilitation and conservation.
