PM Modi Expresses Concern Over Misuse of Digital Platforms, Calls for Swift Action Against Cyber Frauds

New Delhi: Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Wednesday expressed concern over the growing misuse of digital platforms to cheat and defraud people, stressing the need for coordinated, sensitive and time-bound action by all agencies involved in tackling cyber crimes.

The Prime Minister made these observations while reviewing public grievances related to cyber crime, particularly cases involving online fraud and so-called “digital arrest” scams.

Emphasising the importance of protecting citizens in the digital age, Modi directed authorities to ensure prompt response mechanisms and greater coordination among departments to address such cases effectively.

During the review meeting, the Prime Minister also assessed the progress of four major infrastructure projects spanning the road, power, industrial corridor and metro rail sectors. The projects, spread across four states, involve an investment of approximately ₹30,000 crore, according to an official statement.

The review underscored the government’s focus on strengthening digital security while simultaneously accelerating the implementation of key infrastructure initiatives across the country.
