New Delhi : The Supreme Court of India said people have the right to criticise its judgments. The court refused to hear a plea seeking removal of a remark from an old Class 8 Social Science textbook of NCERT.
A bench led by Chief Justice Surya Kant made the observation. Justices Joymalya Bagchi and Vipul M Pancholi were also part of the bench. Meanwhile, the Centre informed the court that it has set up an expert committee to review the textbook. The book includes a chapter on corruption in the judiciary.
Solicitor General Tushar Mehta said the panel includes former Attorney General K K Venugopal, former Supreme Court judge Indu Malhotra, and Aniruddha Bose. The committee also includes a vice chancellor.
