NDA Candidate Alleges Neglect of Tribal Communities in Mananthavady

NDA candidate P Shyam Raj on Sunday alleged that both the Left Democratic Front (LDF) and the United Democratic Front (UDF) have failed tribal communities in the Mananthavady constituency, particularly on the issue of land rights.

Speaking after visiting a protest site at Thalappuzha Kuttiyot in Thavinjal panchayat, Shyam Raj said that tribal families have long been struggling for a piece of land, but successive governments have not addressed their concerns.

He further alleged that many elected representatives from the constituency had engaged with tribal communities only for political gain, without taking meaningful steps to resolve their issues.

The NDA candidate assured that he would bring the matter to the attention of the Union Minister for Scheduled Tribes and also raise it with the Minister for Planning and Development to find a solution for those protesting in the area.

As part of his campaign, Shyam Raj continued outreach programmes across the constituency. Earlier in the day, he visited Manalvayal Unnati in the Idavaka panchayat and later offered prayers at a temple in Mathothuvayal.

His campaign, according to party sources, is focused on direct interaction with voters and addressing local grievances, particularly those concerning marginalised communities.
