BJP state president K. Surendran has strongly criticized the Kerala government for allegedly deceiving the High Court by failing to provide accurate details about the Wayanad relief fund and rehabilitation progress. He described this as an act of gross negligence and betrayal of the people. Surendran highlighted that the delay in submitting reports to the central government had obstructed crucial aid distribution, prompting a reprimand from the court.
Surendran accused the Pinarayi Vijayan administration of playing politics instead of focusing on effective disaster management. He demanded transparency regarding how contributions to the Chief Minister’s Distress Relief Fund (CMDRF) for Wayanad were utilized. He further alleged that the state government had not spent any funds from its treasury for Wayanad’s recovery, despite receiving assistance offers from BJP-led states.
This controversy underscores claims of fund mismanagement and delays in rehabilitation following recent natural disasters in Wayanad, drawing widespread attention and criticism.
