London: An event featuring Tamil Nadu Chief Minister C Joseph Vijay was cancelled in London on Tuesday after the Metropolitan Police raised safety concerns.
Hundreds of Vijay’s supporters had gathered outside The Shard, London’s tallest building, hoping to see the chief minister. Several fans had reportedly waited in queues for hours before the programme was called off.
A member of Vijay’s team announced the cancellation over a loudspeaker, saying the programme could not go ahead as the organisers did not have the required permission amid safety concerns.The decision disappointed many supporters who had gathered at the venue.
