Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi on Thursday urged BRICS nations to strongly condemn what he described as violations of international law by the United States and Israel amid the ongoing West Asia crisis.
Speaking at the opening session of a two-day BRICS conclave in New Delhi, Araghchi said Iran was a victim of “illegal expansionism and warmongering” and accused the US and Israel of escalating tensions in the region.
The meeting was chaired by External Affairs Minister S Jaishankar and attended by foreign ministers and representatives from BRICS member countries, including Russia and Brazil.
Araghchi said such actions have no place in the modern world and called on BRICS nations to take a clear stand against what he termed unlawful aggression and violations of international norms.
