Ahmedabad: Union Home and Cooperation Minister Amit Shah on Friday said India is moving towards becoming a premier global hub for sports by strengthening its sporting ecosystem across major international events, including the Olympics and Commonwealth Games.
Addressing the inaugural event of the World Archery Para Series virtually, Shah said India is also expected to emerge as a global leader in sports injury medicine in the near future.
The World Archery Para Series is being held in Ahmedabad from September 5 to 9.
Shah said state-of-the-art training and coaching infrastructure being developed across the country would help establish India as a major coaching hub for athletes from around the world.
He emphasised that strengthening sports infrastructure and creating a comprehensive sporting ecosystem would further enhance India’s position on the global sports stage.
