New Delhi: President Droupadi Murmu on Friday extended her greetings to teachers across the country on the eve of Teachers’ Day and paid tribute to former President Dr Sarvepalli Radhakrishnan.
In her message, Murmu recalled Radhakrishnan as a distinguished author, philosopher and an extraordinary teacher. Teachers’ Day is observed every year to commemorate his birth anniversary.
The President highlighted the vital role of teachers in nurturing talent and strengthening the character of students through guidance and mentorship. She said teachers have a responsibility to help students grow into good human beings.
Murmu said dedicated and caring teachers can recognise the unique potential of students, inspire them and encourage them to strive for excellence.
She urged teachers to continuously update their knowledge, embrace technology and adopt innovative teaching methods. She also called upon them to encourage independent thinking and foster a spirit of enquiry among students.
The President expressed her gratitude to all dedicated teachers for their contributions and wished them success in nurturing enlightened generations who would take the nation to greater heights.
