Patna: Several districts in Bihar are facing a flood-like situation as major rivers, including the Ganga, continue to flow above danger levels following heavy rainfall in Nepal and neighbouring Jharkhand, officials said on Friday.
Chief Minister Samrat Choudhary conducted an aerial survey of the affected areas and reviewed the ongoing relief and rescue operations.
During the review, the Chief Minister directed officials to identify families affected by the rising water levels and ensure that relief reaches them without delay.
He also instructed authorities to maintain continuous monitoring of vulnerable areas and the Ganga embankments stretching from Buxar to Bhagalpur to prevent erosion and possible breaches.
Officials have been asked to remain alert and take timely measures in areas at risk as water levels in several rivers continue to rise.
